Alternative name: Veraguas Mango

Anthracothorax veraguensis

Differs from other similar mango species in lacking black on the underside.

Central America: found in western Panama (Chiriquí to s Coclé) and adjacent islands. It has also recently been demonstrated to occur in Costa Rica where found in the southern one third of the Pacific side of the country.

Rare observations on the Caribbean Slope where Green Mango is more likely.

This is a monotypic species[1], which in the past has been considered conspecific with Green-breasted Mango.

Relatively open areas in lowlands.
