Identification

20 cm (7¾ in)
Male

  • Dark bluish-grey upperparts
  • Black forehead, side of head and throat
  • Black primaries
  • Dark bluish-grey tertials and upperwing-coverts

Distribution

Sulawesi endemic. South East Asia: Indonesia: Greater Sundas. Northern, central and south-eastern parts of the island.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.
Formerly placed in the genus Coracina.

Habitat

High montane forests, generally above 1400m.

Behaviour

Diet

Their main diet consists of insects.

The feed in the canopy with mixed species flocks.
