Myrmotherula brachyura

Identification

Distribution

Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador,French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.

In the form presented here, Pygmy Antwren includes two subspecies, brachyura and ignota. A split of Moustached Antwren (=Colombian Antwren) Myrmotherula ignota from Pygmy Antwren has been proposed and is currently recognized by the Clements Checklist but not by Howard & Moore; Moustaced Antwren would in this form include Short-billed Antwren Myrmotherula obscura as a subspecies.

Subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical swamps, and heavily degraded former forest.
