Myrmotherula brachyura

Includes Colombian Antwren, Moustached Antwren

Identification

Distribution

Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.

Taxonomy

In the form presented in Opus, Pygmy Antwren includes two subspecies, brachyura and ignota. A split of Moustached Antwren (=Colombian Antwren) Myrmotherula ignota from Pygmy Antwren has been proposed and is currently recognized by the Clements Checklist but not by Howard & Moore; Moustached Antwren would include Short-billed Antwren Myrmotherula obscura as a subspecies.

Habitat

Subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical swamps, and heavily degraded former forest.
