Distribution

North-western South America: found in Andes of Colombia and extreme western Venezuela to western Bolivia

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Montane forest, ususally in the understorey

Behaviour

Perches upright on a low perch and sallies for prey.
