Smaller than Brown Cuckoo-Dove


Tanakeke and Salayar islands, Sulawesi. South East Asia: Indonesia: Greater Sundas.


Formerly included in Dusky Cuckoo-Dove.


There are 2 subspecies[1]:

  • M. m. macassariensis:
  • South-western Sulawesi province: Benteng, Tanakeke and Salayar islands
  • M. m. longa:



A shy bird.
