Distribution
South America: found in Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and Brazil.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 4 subspecies[1]:
- P. a. aureola:
- P. a. aurantiicollis:
- Brazil on River Tapaj¢s in western Par and adjacent northern bank of River Amazon
- P. a. flavicollis:
- Lower Amazonian Brazil in eastern Amazonas and western Par
- P. a. borbae:
- Brazil along lower and middle River Madeira in eastern Amazonas
Habitat
Swamps, waterways and mangroves.
