Distribution

Southeast Asia: found in Indonesia, New Guinea and [[ Melanesia ]].

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 3 subspecies[1]:

  • M. o. ochromelas:
  • Western New Guinea (Tamrau, Arfak and Wandammen Mountains)
  • M. o. batesi:
  • South-eastern New Guinea (Weyland and Nassau Mountains)
  • M. o. lucifer:
  • North-eastern New Guinea (Mountains of Huon Peninsula)

Habitat

Moist montanes.
