Description

A single species, Lesser Florican.

Taxonomy

Sypheotides is a monotypic genus in the family Otididae.

Eupodotis vs. Sypheotides

Some authorities (Sibley & Monroe, 1996) lump the genus Sypheotides within Eupodotis. However there now seems to be a consensus for using Sypheotides.
