Identification
Similar Species
Distribution
Breeds in winter on Cape Verde Islands; extent of at-sea range unknown, possibly to eastern North America
Endemic to the Cape Verde Islands.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
It was formerly included in Band-rumped Storm Petrel.
Habitat
Pelagic, extent of sea distribution not yet clear.
Behaviour
Flight
Quick wing beats between glides on bowed wings.
Breeding
It nests in colonies close to the sea in rock crevices and lays a single white egg. Nests are visited only at night.
