Identification
25·5–27 cm
Yellowish-buff above heavily barred with black, throat white, front and sides of neck and breast pale grey, belly white, flanks cream barred with black. Head and neck bright chestnut.
Female paler on back. Legs olive-green.
Distribution
South America: found in extreme eastern Colombia and adjacent southern Venezuela.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Thick lowland forests. Occurs up to 200 m.
Behaviour
There is very little information available about their behaviour.
Movements
A resident species.
