Western Africa: Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola
Eastern Africa: Tanzania, Zambia

Taxonomy

• Northern and west-central Angola

• M. a. antonii (minyanyae):

• Eastern Angola to southern Zaire and north-western Zambia

• M. a. marungensis:

• South-eastern Zaire (Marungu Plateau)

Habitat

Dry lowland grassland and seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland.

Behaviour

Diet

Ground feeders. Their main diet consists of insects, including beetles and grasshoppers; also seeds.
