Identification
10.2 to 12 cm.
- Lemon-yellow forehead
- Yellowish-green crown and upperparts
- White eyering, interrupted by blackish spot at front
- Darkish loral line
- Lemon-yellow throat and upper breast
- Pale grey rest of underparts with faint yellow longitudinal streak over centre
- Pale lemon-yellow undertail-coverts
- batanis is larger, brighter yellow and has more yellow on forehead
Sexes similar, juveniles undescribed.
Distribution
Northern Philippines and islands south of Taiwan.
Common in lowlands. Often used as cagebird in the Philippines.
