Femundsmarka National Park Norway
In south-central Norway between Lake Femund and the Swedish border, Femundsmarka is a wilderness of largely bare rock with little vegetation on a mountain plateau. There are also scattered patches of birch and pine forest as well as marshes, lakes and rivers.
Wetland birds in the park include Common Crane, Common Tern, Arctic Tern, Golden Plover and Three-toed Woodpecker and Western Capercaillie breed in the wooded areas. On the plateau there are Rough-legged Buzzard and Merlin, Rock Ptarmigan and Willow Ptarmigan, Snow Bunting and Eurasian Dotterel.
