Unknown Duck (Oakland, CA, USA) (1 Viewer)

What are these tiny little ducks? They are about the same size as a willet and the male seemed to have a mint green iridescence to the feathers at the rear.

Were seen feeding among the willets and swimming peacefully with the mallards and pintails.

I assume a male and a female from the way they stayed close to each other.

Spotted at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline in Oakland, California.

Woohoo, new duck for us. And a pretty one too. The photo provided didn't show it, but the mint-green iridescence on the feathers was gorgeous.

THANKS!
