Trinovid BN leather case for Ultravid ? (10 Viewers)

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting one of the old Leica leather cases, the one supplied with the Trinovid 8x32 BNs, and I'd like to know if the Ultravid 8x32 would fit in it with the eyecups extended and the rainguard fitted.

I can't check it before ordering the case, so, if someone could do it and let me know, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

The Leica BN 8x32 is 4.4 x4.7 x1.8 inches and the Leica UVHD 8x32 is 4.6 x4.6 x2.2 inches, so I think it would be very unlikely the UVHD 8x32 would fit in a case designed for the smaller BN especially with the eyecups extended, and the rain guard fitted. Leica usually designs their cases to fit pretty tight. What about this new hard leather case. The internal dimensions are L 6.3 inches x W 5.1 inches x D 2 inches. You would have a little extra length for your strap to fit inside on the top, and it would provide more protection than the soft leather Leica case.

No, it wouldn't work. The UV is a bit longer, and the BN case already fits only with eyecups collapsed (and bin opened flat, which can be a nuisance).
