Hedgehog Eyes (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I took these photos with flash last night of a hedgehog which unfortunately came out with pet/red eye as shown here. I got someone from another forum to fix the pet eye for me as shown here here and here. Is this a good photo and fix of pet eye? Does it look realistic for a hedgehog eye? How can I stop this happening again?

Hi,

That's a pretty tricky one to fix as the eye is completely blown - i.e such a strong white that there is no recoverable detail.

One thing that will be cheap to try, is to put a piece of tissue paper (or other slightly translucent white material) over your camera's flash, to diffuse the light. Once diffused, the light won't be as strong, but should be more even.

You seem to have got a bit of a red cast here too - try a slightly cooler white balance, or just changing it a bit on the computer.
