Distribution
Caribbean: found only in Trinidad
South America: Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina

Habitat
Savanna, cerrado and wet grasslands.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of nectar from low-growing garden flowering plants.
