Identification

51cm. White underparts with heavy blackish streaks on flanks.

Distribution

Asia: found in Tajikistan, Afghanistan, China, Tibet, Nepal, India, Eastern and Western Himalayas and Bhutan

Habitat

Bare or grassy slopes between 5,000–6,000 m.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes roots, shoots, seeds, and berries.

Breeding

It nests are concealed by shrub or boulder; The clutch consists of 4-7 eggs.
