- Elaenia olivina
Identification
14 - 15 cm
Dark olive-brown on upperside, mostly yellow underside with olive wash on breast. Head is small and rounded with a white coronal stripe usually visible. Wings have two whitish wing bars as well as white edging on tertials while inner flight feathers are edged yellow.
Distribution
Found in southern Venezuela, adjacent Guyana and extreme northern Brazil
Taxonomy
Tepui Elaenia has been split from Sierran Elaenia
Subspecies
- E. p. davidwillardi in the Tepuis of southern Venezuela
- E. p. olivina in the Tepuis of southern Venezuela, adjacent Guyana and extreme northern Brazil
Habitat
Wet mountain areas (tepuis) dominated by forest, edges, high elevation scrub and second growth.
Behaviour
Feeds on insects and fruit
Vocalisation
Song is describes as irregular sharp notes, and call as pfeééu.
