Location: Itatiaia National Park, high levels, Itamonte, MG, Brazil, October 2007
Phylloscartes difficilis

Pogonotriccus difficilis

Green upperside, grey underside and side of head, white spectacles over black lore, no wing bars but olive edging on wing feathers.

Endemic to southeast Brazil.

This is a monotypic species1.

Scrub and understory of higher elevation forest within range.

Always quite low over ground, to 10-15 feet, and rarely with mixed species flocks. Tends to hold tail bent upwards and wings lowered while shaking these.

Like all tyrannulets likes insects and other arthropods.
