Identification
14.5 cm. Olive brown above, buff tips to back feathers, rump and tail dark rufous, wings black brown with buffy wing-bars and rufous edging, black face and throat bordered by grey tipped feathers. The female has a white throat and a white breast with black scalloping.

Formerly placed in genus Myrmeciza by Gill and Donsker.

Behaviour
It prefers to stay close to the ground. It builds its nest on the ground and 2 eggs are laid.
