Asia: found in China, Tibet, Nepal, India, Eastern Himalayas, Bangladesh and Bhutan
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 3 subspecies[1]:

  • F. s. sapphira:
  • F. s. tienchuanensis:
  • Mountains of west-central China (Sichuan to southern Shaanxi)
  • F. s. laotiana:

Moist montanes.
