Distribution

Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay.

Taxonomy

Formerly included in genus Phylloscartes. The scientific name has in the past (erroneously) been spelled Phylloscartes paulistus

Subspecies

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Moist lowland forests and montanes.
