17cm. Males are black and females are mainly rufous. Striking upturned bill. Huge bill, laterally compressed with lower mandible upturned.

This is a monotypic species which has been split from Recurve-billed Bushbird.
Habitat
Dense sections of tropical moist lowland forest.
