- Cinnyris rockefelleri
Nectarinia rockefelleri
Identification
Fractionally smaller than the similar Regal Sunbird with less yellow (only chest area) along the sides of the central vertical red patch which stretches down the chest and most of the belly. The flanks and and area between belly and vent are dark; some references refer to an olive colour. Olive per se is not obvious in the field although these areas are very clearly not yellow at all. Regal Sunbird has bright yellow all the way down to the lower flanks on both sides of a fairly narrow vertical patch of red down the chest and belly.
