Distribution
South America: found from the Andes of Peru (Junín and Lima) to northern Chile and north-western Argentina.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Grassy hillsides and steppes, often close to rocky outcrops.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of insects.
They are generally terrestrial; feeding by short runs and hops; stopping suddenly in an upright posture.
Breeding
There is little information available. They are likely to lay their eggs in a crevice between rocks.
