Identification

Distribution

South America: found locally in chaco of eastern Paraguay and northern Argentina.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species1.

Habitat

In summer found in Pampas (mainly croplands but also some natural grassland), in winter also in Campo and (rarely) Chaco areas

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes insects.

Breeding

It is a ground nester.
