Identification
Probably similar to South Island Takahe.
Distribution
Formerly on North Island, New Zealand. A possible record in 1894, otherwise only known from fossil bones.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
Formerly considered conspecific with South Island Takahe.
Habitat
Behaviour
Probably flightless.
