Distribution
Formerly endemic to Maui. Extirpated from Maui in the 1980's or 1990's.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
Formerly regarded conspecific with Hawaii Akepa and Oahu Akepa.
Habitat
Montane ohia and koa forests.
