Identification
10cm.
Short tail, short thick curved bill and tubular tongue, blue-black upperparts, white throat and upper breast, yellow lower breast and belly. The female is duller, with olive-brown upperparts.
Distribution
South-western Sri Lanka.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
forests and other well-wooded habitats including gardens.
Behaviour
Breeding
Two eggs are laid in a purse-like nest suspended from a tree.
Diet
The diet includes nectar, berries, spiders and insects.
