Overview

This island is just off Oban. The habitat is mainly traditional farmland (mostly sheep and Highland cattle), woods and rocky coast-line, the highest point on Kerrera is Carn Breugach at 189 metres.

Arctic Tern, Fulmar, Black Guillemot and Eider will usually be seen on the ferry crossing.

Access and Facilities

There are no public roads on the island and therefore no cars or public transport. A passenger ferry goes from Gallanach Road, just 2 miles south of Oban (a small car par there).

The only accommodation is a bunkhouse and there is a teashop.
