- Reddish-orange coronal patch (sometimes partially concealed)
- White supra-loral spot
- Broken white eye-ring
- Olive-grey nape
Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
Taxonomy
Formerly placed in genus Myiophobus.
Subspecies
There are 3 subspecies[1]:
- N. p. pulcher:
- N. p. bellus:
- Central and Eastern Andes of Colombia and north-eastern Ecuador
- N. p. oblitus:
- Andes of south-eastern Peru (Cuzco and northern Puno)
Habitat
Humid forests and forest borders. Various woodland types. Observed at heights around 2227 meters.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists almost entirely of insects.
