Overview
With just over half the area of Jersey, consequently the island of Guernsey has fewer habitats and fewer bird species.
Birds
Notable Species
Although it is more easily found on Jersey, the Channel Islands speciality, Short-toed Treecreeper does occur in small numbers. Dartford Warbler also breeds especially on Pleinmont Point where Stonechat also nests and the nearby cliffs have Northern Fulmar.
This area is also well-known as a migration watchpoint for passerines as is the Chouet headland which also has good seawatching potential.
Nearby L'Ancresse Common is a regular site for Snow Bunting.

The Guernsey coastal footpath runs from St Peter Point on the east coast to Pleinmont Point at the south-west corner and provides excellent walk through heathland, pine-covered slopes and evergreen oakwoods.
Access and Facilities
Guernsey can be reached by sea or air from Jersey and has a good range of accommodation.
