Distribution
South America: found from central Chile and Argentina to Tierra del Fuego; Juan Fernandez Island.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1], however, some authorities also recognize subspecies albicans and mariannae[2].
Habitat
Dense forest and forest edge, from seacoast to the snowline
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of nectar.
