Distribution
South America: found in Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina.

- Southern Bolivia (Cochabamba south to Tarija)
- S. b. inzonata:
- S. b. flavocinerea:
- Central Argentina
- S. b. gracilis: Caatinga Wagtail-Tyrant
- North East Brazil (Pernambuco and northern Bahia)
Habitat
Deciduous woodland and dry scrub and gallery forest from sea-level to 1000 m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists almost entirely of insects.
