Northern South America: endemic to Venezuela
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 3 subspecies[1]:
- E. d. tyleri:
- Tepuis of southern Venezuela (Duida, Huachamacare and Parú)
- E. d. auyantepui:
- Tepuis of southern Venezuela (Auyan-tepui)
- E. d. dayi:
- Tepuis of southern Venezuela (Roraima, Kukenamk and Ptari-tepui)
Habitat
Humid forests and scrub, savanna woodland.
Behaviour
Perches upright in the middle storey.
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of insects and fruit.
