Identification

Distribution

South America: found in Colombia and northern Venezuela.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 3 subspecies[1]:

  • A. s. fratruelis:
  • A. s. canidorsum:
  • Western slope of Eastern Andes of Colombia (Santander)
  • A. s. schlegeli:

Habitat

Forest and forest clearings, also more open deciduous woodland.

Behaviour

Inclined to skulk about in thick undergrowth.

Diet

Their diet consists of insects, seeds and fruit. They mostly feed on the ground in the undergrowth.
