Distribution
South America: found in the mountains of East Andes of Colombia (Boyacá to Bogotá).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
It formerly included Perija Starfrontlet and Merida Starfrontlet.
Habitat
Cloud forest and more open areas with scattered trees between 1400–3200 m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet includes nectar gathered from a variety of flowers.
