Identification

The male Glossy Antshrike is all black except for white on the wings and the tip of the tail.
Distribution
A Brazilian endemic.
Taxonomy

There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- S. l. luctuosus:
- Central and eastern Amazonian Brazil
- S. l. araguayae:
- Central Brazil (southern River Araguaia drainage)
Habitat
By the sides of rivers and in várzea forest.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of insects and beetles.
