Africa: Montane moorlands of eastern Uganda to central Kenya

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Formerly included in Moorland Francolin

Habitat

Moorland with heath of genus Erica or tussock grass, mainly above 2400 m asl but occasionally down to about 1800 m.

Behaviour

Likely mainly relying on vegetarian food stuff.
