Distribution

Southern New Guinea including Aru Islands.

Taxonomy

Blue-fronted Fig Parrot, Dusky-cheeked Fig Parrot, and Black-fronted Fig Parrot were formerly considered a single species, the Orange-breasted Fig Parrot.

Subspecies

Clements recognizes these subspecies[1]:

• C. m. suavissima: Southeast Papua New Guinea
• C. m. fuscifrons: Southern New Guinea
• C. m. melanogenia: Aru Islands
