Distribution
Costa Rica and Panama including Darien.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
It was formerly considered conspecific with Magdalena Antbird.
Formerly placed in genus Myrmeciza by Gill and Donsker.
Habitat
Lowland montane cloud forest, deep ravines and near streams. Riparian with dense understory. Observed at heights around 1,100 m.
Behaviour
Diet
The diet consists of spiders, cockroaches, beetles, crickets, woodlice and larvae.
Breeding
It builds a cup shaped nest. The clutch contains 2 cinnamon spotted white eggs.
