Distribution
Endemic to southeast Asia: found in Indochina, Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo, Malay Peninsula, Brunei, Indonesia, Greater Sundas and Sumatra.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]
- H. d. sumatranus:
- southern peninsular Thailand, Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and the Lingga Archipelago
- H. d. diardii:
- Borneo and Bangka Island
Some of these subspecies are not recognized by all authorities[2].
Habitat
Broadleaved evergreen lowland forests, deep jungle.
