Distribution
South-east Asia and Australasia: found in Indonesia, New Guinea and the Aru Islands.

Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- D. m. aurantia:
- Lowlands of northern New Guinea (Geelvink to Astrolabe Bay)
- D. m. mullerii:
- Aru Islands, southern New Guinea, Boigu and Daru islands
Habitat
Lowland rainforest, swamp forest and mangroves.
Behaviour
Breeding
It builds a platform nest in a tree near wetlands. The clutch consists of a single egg.
Diet
The diet includes fruit which is swallowed whole.
