Distribution
South America: found in Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina.
Taxonomy
Clements1 and IOC2 place this species in the genus Tarphonomus.
Subspecies[1]
Three subspecies are recognized:
- T. c. estebani:
- T. c. luscinia:
- Chaco of western Argentina (La Rioja and Mendoza)
- T. c. certhioides:
- Chaco of northern and central Argentina
Habitat
Dry shrubland.
