Identification
15-16cm
Male
- Bright blue back, throat, breast
- Lighter blue lower back, upperwing and tail
- Dull blue-grey
- White belly tinged blue
- Lilac cheeks
- Greenish-yellow bare eye ring
- Blue, black-tipped bill
- Dark brown iris
- Crest which droops over head, and is raised when the bird is excited
Female: smaller, duller, shorter crest
Distribution
South-east Asia: found on the Philippines.
Taxonomy
This is usually regarded as a monotypic species[1]. Some authorities accept rabori along with the nominate[2].

Forests upto 750m.

Call: high pitched pwee pwee pwee.
