Genus: Laniellus
Description
This genus contains two species of Crocias from SE Asia. Both are remarkably similar and both have a remarkably small range, one in Vietnam, the other on Java. They look similar to the Sibias, but have shorter, stouter and stronger bills.
Taxonomy
Laniellus is a genus in the Family Leiothrichidae.
It was formerly included in the family Timaliidae.
The species included here were formerly placed in genus Crocias but it was discovered that Laniellus is an older, available name which therefore replaced Crocias.
