Genus: Amblyornis
Description
Four species of Bowerbirds (or Gardeners) from New Guinea. They share:
- A mostly brown plumage
- Erectile crests (orange or yellow) in males (except for Vogelkop Bowerbird)
- A short, deep robust bill
- Stout, powerful legs
Taxonomy
Amblyornis is a genus in the family Ptilonorhynchidae.
Golden Bowerbird is sometimes included in this genus.
