Distribution

Western Africa: found in Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon
African Islands: Gulf of Guinea Islands, Bioko (Fernando Po)

Taxonomy

This is one of the seven Sunbirds that have recently been moved into the genus Cyanomitra from the genus Nectarinia.

Subspecies[1]

There are 3 subspecies:

  • C. o. poensis:
  • Montane forests of Bioko Island (Gulf of Guinea)
  • C. o. bansoensis:
  • C. o. oritis:
  • Montane forests of Mount Cameroon

Montane forest and clearings.
