Taxonomy
This is one of the seven Sunbirds that have recently been moved into the genus Cyanomitra from the genus Nectarinia.
Subspecies[1]
There are 3 subspecies:
- C. o. poensis:
- Montane forests of Bioko Island (Gulf of Guinea)
- C. o. bansoensis:
- Highlands of western Cameroon
- C. o. oritis:
- Montane forests of Mount Cameroon
